Hey everyone. Yes, I know I haven't been on in a while... I apologize. Anyways, I have a few updates. I'd like to inform you all of our new Cbox - a little place to leave comments, suggestions, or just to chat. I will also be adding a new poll, along with a few other things. Well, that's about it. TH Signing at Hot Topic and Show at the Avalon

Okay, first, the signing.
The signing was UNBELIEVABLE! Bill was like, right there! In front of me! I was seriously sobbing. Bill was all like, "Hi" to me. I handed him a letter and said, "This is for you, Bill." He was all like, "Oh, thank you!" He was so sweet and put the letter right next to him <3 Then I gave them my TH sweatshirt and they all signed it. The Tokio Hotel TV cameras seriously pounced on me while I was crying. They were probably thinking, "Wow, an American girl crying for Bill! This is gold!" and taped me along with my "friend" that I met in line xD I was crying like crazy - the unexplained fangirl cry xD Anyways, the people who worked at Hot Topic were like, "It's okay. Are you going to the show tomorrow?" It was sort of funny because everyone came over to me xD Then we went home and I declared May 12, 2008, the best day of my life xDD
The show at the Avalon was freaking crazy! I managed to get /really/ close to the front, but wasn't all the way up there. This one girl was holding up a poster and I couldn't see anything - neither could half of the other people behind her. I got really pissed off - come on, I waited four hours in line and now I'm going to be blocked by this girl's poster? I don't think so. I tore a piece of it off and she got really mad and tried to punch me xD When she got pushed near me I tore it in half, and then I /finally/ tore it away from her and threw it on the ground.
Anyways, I made my way up to where I was about three or four rows from the front - and people were violent xD The crowd was shifting from side to side and half of them fell over. Lucky for me I didn't go down with them. Tom looked all stunned, like he had just seen a car accident. It was so phenomenal, though. Bill sounded wonderful, and his shirt was really cool xDD When they were throwing water into the crowd I got drenched by it xD
At the end of the show it was really cool, though. We went up to a bouncer once the crowd had cleared and asked them for the set list. He got it for us, which was nice - I didn't think they would xD When I looked at it, it had a mark from Bill's shoe on it, which was really cool for me - almost like catching Bill's towel, or something xDD Then we got home a little after 11 o'clock. That was fine though - it was a really cool experience.
Oh, and if you don't believe that I got the set list, I took a picture of it to prove it to you. I'll be posting it in a second.

Here's an interview with Bill.

Translated from Bild.de:

In an interview, which is seen exclusively on BILD.de, Bill speaks about his fears before and after the interference.

"The diagnosis was a shock", tells the singer. "I was afraid that I would never be able to speak again."

After the operation he was not allowed to talk, laugh or clear his throat for ten days. "I would have never thought that I would be able to do it. But the fear about my voice was too big."

When Bill was allowed to again speak, initially his voice sounded unfamiliar. "It sounded odd, somehow strange. But after a few days that passed."

Will he ever be able to sing again without any fear?

Bill: "I will never forget this experience and will probably never be without concerns. But I have overcome it and hope that it will never happen again."

I’m happy about the concerts and that we can make up the Dortmund concert here in Germany . It’s really, really important that we can play that concert. I saw that you had already been waiting, and I’m happy to be able to finally see you at the concert. Again, many, many thanks.

End of the mandatory break for Tokio-Hotel-singer Bill Kaulitz: As of this Monday the 18-year-old "as part of his rehabilitation" will sing some songs again.

The management decided at the same time, instead of taking the planned tour in May for the time being only one concert into account in the USA

At the same time the management decided, instead of rescheduling the planned tour in May, first they will play only a single concert in the USA . The Venue on the 13th of May is the "Avalon" in Los Angeles where the Rolling Stones, Prince and Nirvana appeared.

At the end of March the star underwent a vocal cord operation had to subject itself, some concerts were canceled as a result. The involuntary career break came at a conceivably unfavorable moment: In February the band made a quick visit to North America and was met with much enthusiasm. The concerts in medium-sized halls in Los Angeles , New York and Canada were immediately sold out. Many American fans knew hits such as "Monsoon" ("Durch den Monsun").

The script would have to include the fact that two of the Tokio Hotel members were just 13 years old when they made their first record, and they are still only 18 today. So no-one would believe it. No way.

ACTUALLY, NOT only is the above synopsis free from artistic licence, but if anything it underplays the impact these spirited teens have made on a German market where 'Tokio Fever' is now an epidemic...
Since signing with Universal in May 2005, TH have sold approaching 5 million records & DVDs in Germany alone, making them the country's most successful band, with a host of domestic awards jostling for space in the collective cabinet. And they played the most successful debut live tour EVER to grace German stages.

Put simply, it would be an act of rank foolishness to go toe-to-toe with these guys in terms of statues or stats, with existing records being rearranged as a matter of routine. They're the youngest band to reach the top of their charts at home, for example... and now the highest-placed German act ever in France, where 'Zimmer 483' (the meaning of the title is hidden somewhere in the album!) recently stormed the chart at No.2, turning gold week one.

GIVE ALL of the above a stir, and the result is a young band who pride themselves on playing their instruments since they could putting on great live shows and having positive things to say to fans their own age. Yes, their demeanour and their dress have played a significant role in bringing them into the spotlight, and yes, their average age is only 18, but it would be foolish to attribute such dramatic (and fast-growing) success to pin-up power alone.

Bill Can Speak Again!

A week and a half after his vocal cord operation, Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz may speak again. “Bill’s speech prohibition has ended, but initially he needs to speak very little, carefully, and quietly.

“At the moment Bill is not allowed to speak on the telephone at all”, band manager David Jost told the German press agent dpa on Thursday. “The first words that Bill now spoke tens days after the operation were totally feeble, but very clear “ahhh” and then followed by one, two, three”. 18-year old Kaulitz underwent a vocal cord operation on March 31, which is why the band had to call off some concerts.

Part of the cancelled appearances was also a concert in Dortmund , which was scheduled for March 31, the day of the operation. This concert is expected to be rescheduled for June 13, said Jost. The original tickets are still valid. The band’s first appearance after the operation will be on May 3 at the Bamboozle-Festival near New York . On May 9 they will then be guests on a US talk show, Jost reported.

The healing process for singer Bill is running optimally. “Bill must still endure a lot, but he does not have any pain”, said Jost. He must do regular voice exercises. “Bill’s exercises are a little like learning to speak again.” He can only count the days of the week or something similar for example. “At the moment, Bill may not speak more than two to three minutes at a time.” Bill is happy to have been able to put both the operation and silent phase behind him.

The latest teen craze and possible future rock icon, Tokio Hotel have sat down to answer our questions that may as well be jotted by their fans. Beside talking about their immediate plan this year, the German band also share some personal stories regarding their tour experience and how they handle their female fans, including how guitarist Tom Kaulitz wishing to reunite with the "beautiful ladies" in U.S..

Drummer Gustav Schafer and bassist Georg Listing also highlight on whose music become their favorites plus reveal how each of them can actually never have one unanimous favorite. Singer Bill Kaulitz unfortunately is not available for the interview since he is in recuperation post a throat surgery and that was exactly the first thing we ask.

ASB: So regarding your canceled tour dates, what really happened at the time, did Bill start losing his voice when you guys performed in France ?

Tom: Yes, unfortunately Bill lost his voice after the show in Marseille. The next day he left to see a specialist in Berlin . First he had to rest and after he saw the doctor for the second time it was clear that Bill had to undergo surgery at his vocal chords. He is fine so! He is not allowed to speak and laugh for ten days (laughing) and that's a real hard task for him cause he normally speaks all the time. Now he is writing down everything in a book - that's his way to communicate these days. After the ten days there will be an intense phase of vocal rehabilitation. The doctor is very satisfied with the healing process and is positive that Bill's voice will be the same after the whole therapy. Bill is really glad that he left the surgery behind him. He can't wait to go back on stage and perform!

ASB: For Tom, Georg and Gustav what do you guys do in the meantime?

Georg: We take the time to spend it with our friends and families and relax a little.

Tom: I'm with Bill all the time and support him. And of course we do all the work we can do without Bill at the moment.

ASB: When do you reckon the soonest time to get back on stage in compensation of the axed dates?

Tom: We are very happy cause we just approved a lot of summer festivals all over Europe starting in June. There are also talks concerning earlier dates. (Laughing) There's no doubt: As soon as Bill is allowed he will jump back on stage and we all can't wait to see our fans again. They were so great after we had to cancel shows. They showed so much support and love that we really want to thank them and be back for them as soon as possible.

ASB: Now that "Scream" has hit most part of the world and will soon hit U.S (May 6), what do you expect from the American fans?

Gustav: We just freaked out cause the album hit #6 of the Canadian charts out of the stand!

Tom: Yeah, this is really amazing. We actually can't believe it. With us it's not about expectations. We just hope that our fans do connect to our music and lyrics, that they feel it.

ASB: Do you find audience in America as loud as those in your home country?

Tom (laughing): Oh yes! We always say that it would be a nightmare to play in front of an audience that applauses and doesn't scream. We love that excitement. Our fans a very energetic, very intense - they are the best fans in the world. And we were really blown away when we found out that the U.S. fans are showing the same energy. We loved it and we can't wait to come back.

ASB: Have you thought of doing a collaboration with other American band? Which one?

Tom: We haven't done collaboration so far. But as they say: Never say never. But nothing is planned at the moment.

ASB: How do you find time to write in the middle of the tour?

Georg: Writing is an ongoing process. We always find time to sit down with our instruments even on the tour bus.

Tom: Right. Sometimes I have an idea and play it to Georg. Or I go to Bill and ask what he thinks or if he has an idea for a lyric to the music. Or Bill wrote some lyrics we do the music to it. Bill writes all the time anyways. He is always carrying a piece of paper and a pen in case he gets an idea. (Laughing) You should take a look in his book, he's been writing all the time even now. There is no way to stop this guy.

ASB: What do you reckon the next album will be first, a German or an English?

Tom: Well, Bill always wrote in German. It's our native language and the language he can express himself and his feelings the best. (Laughing) And honestly our English is still way too bad to write in English.

ASB: You guys won some prestigious awards like World Music Awards and MTV Europe Awards in 2006 and 2007 respectively, do you have more to expect out there after such recognitions?

Tom: We honestly don't think too much about that. But of course it's great to win an award. Georg: Specially the ones that are voted by the fans.

Tom: Yes, cause it's such a great and intense feedback. But it's not that we sit down and think about which award we could win next. Everything that happened to us so far is more then we ever expected at all. Receiving a World Music Award, being nominated at the MTV European Music Award with all these big and great international artists that have been around for ever, sharing the stage with them that night and finally winning that award - none of us ever even imagined something like this a couple of years ago, when we sat in our rehearsal room in Magdeburg dreaming of a record deal. All we ever wanted is to be able to play live in front of people that like our music. Everything that happened till today already went far beyond our dreams. And it really feels unreal sometimes.

ASB: Tokio Hotel has been on many concerts, do you have special unforgettable moment in one of the concerts?

Tom: That's really hard to pick after we played so many amazing venues and concerts. There's always something going on that's really great (laughing) like the one show were people threw batteries at Georg. He actually loves it, so don't hesitate to keep on doing it.

Georg: Ahhhhhh!

Tom: There are always signs that make us laugh during each show - (laughing) I just wish there would be more signs for Georg.

Tom: Being able to play three European tours it's unbelievable for us. And getting the chance to go to Canada and the States to play there, finding out that all shows have been sold out - that's still incredible to us and something that is totally unforgettable. That doesn't happen to a German band too often, you know.

ASB: "Don't Jump" music video saw Bill's character falling off the building, do you guys chip in ideas in your videos?

Tom: Yes, we are always involved when it comes to our videos. We always have a ideas in our heads once the songs are written and we throw them in and work it out with the director.

ASB: We've been curious for sometime, which musicians in both your home town and international league that inspire you musically?

Tom (Laughing): You know, Magdeburg , the little town we are from, is not really known as the city that brings out great bands.

Georg (Laughing): No not at all. And it's really not the place were producers and record labels would look automatically for talents to work with and sign.

Tom (Smiling): Yeah, we've been really lucky. But we actually never had an influence in that way cause our personal music taste is so different - we could never agree on ONE artist or band. I mostly listen to German HipHop. Bill loves Nena and he likes Coldplay, Keen, Green Day and Placebo - depending on his mood.

Gustav: I love the Foo Fighters and Metallica.

Georg: I listen a lot to the latest album of Jimmy Eat World and I'm still a big Oasis fan.

Tom: We always wanted to create our own sound, do our own thing. Our music was actually the music we all agreed on. And it came naturally once we started playing in our rehearsal room.

ASB: Last but not least, being a representative of young artists, do you have wise words to share to your fans here on AceShowbiz?

(Everybody laughs)

Tom (Laughing): Unfortunately you are talking to the wrong people here! We hate people that need to tell you how to do things and how the world is running. We actually think that everybody needs to do his own thing, to find his own way and make his own experiences. That's what we always did. We had our own ideas, we wanted to do our thing our way. People can tell you so much and it will always be different. (Smiling) So if we had to give an advice it would be: do your thing any time and if you are a musician play as much as possible.

Hi, it’s me, BILL OF TOKIO HOTEL! Unfortunately, at the moment, I’m still not allowed to speak, but no one can prevent me from writing...that’s why I figured I would write a few lines to you here at TokioHotel.de.

As most of you certainly already have heard, my operation went really well and you can imagine that there is a huge weight lifted from me. Clearly, how my voice will sound after the ten days of silence no one really knows, but the doctors assure me that everything will be okay – but they don’t know that for absolute certainty. I am however sure that everything will sound the same as before.

I’m sure you can imagine that I am looking forward to the day I can finally speak again. It is simply torture to have to keep my mouth shut the entire day for ten full days! It’s great that I am being totally mothered during this time. ; -) Gustav & Georg visit regularly and Tom is there for me around the clock.

Thanks to all of you for the many get well wishes that are circulating on the internet. I can hardly believe that so many people are care about me. I could probably read them for a month and still not see an end to the greetings. A huge thank you for all the gigantic support - you are simply tremendous...the best fans one could wish for!!!!

BILD: Bill, how are you feeling?
Bill: Well, I’ve had nicer times in my life, but I’m okay. I’m really happy that I have that behind me. But, naturally, I’m still scared about my voice and consequential damage. For me, everything revolves around my voice. Actually, I don’t have any pain.
BILD: What was your experience during the operation?
Bill: As I was receiving my anesthesia shortly before the operation, the doctors stood around me and I was totally scared that the anesthesia wouldn’t work and that they would begin to operate on me anyway. The thought of someone cutting around in your throat while you are fully conscious isn’t so great. But shortly after the thought, the anesthesia already pulled me away.
BILD: What was it like to see your twin brother Tom (18) afterwards?
Bill: As Tom visited me in the recovery room, I still had a huge needle in my arm. Since Tom and I both have a complete fear of injections, it was difficult for both of us to stifle our laughter – unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to laugh. Other than that, I had a terrible white gown on and a pitiful green cap on my head. I looked like I just came out of a crappy hospital series.
BILD: What are your days like?
Bill: For example, I just finished watching the movie “Interview with a Vampire”. If I’m not watching DVDs, Tom must stay with me the entire time, because he always knows immediately what I want to say. If someone asks me a question, I just need to look at Tom quickly and then he answers exactly how I would have. Without Tom, I would probably have tendonitis from writing so much.
BILD: How often do you need to go to the doctor’s office?
Bill: I only need to be examined a few more times and then I’ll already start my voice rehab.

Here's a little bit about Bill's operation (found off of the German Yahoo. Again translated by my German-speaking mother). It's a bit frightening what they had to do to his throat. It's not in full-depth, but still pretty creepy.

Hamburg (dpa) April 2, 2008 – Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz is worried about his career as a singer after his vocal cord operation. "I am still scared about my voice", Bill wrote in an e-mail to Vanity Fair magazine.

On doctor’s orders, he may not speak for at least a week. After examining him, the doctors are convinced that the voice of the 18-year old will recover very well, reports the band’s manager, David Jost.

Bill had his operation this past Sunday. Under full anesthesia, a metal rail was pushed into his throat, so that the physicians could reach the vocal cords with their instruments. "Man am I glad that this is now behind me", wrote Bill. Because of his vocal cord illness Tokio Hotel had to call off many appearances for their "1000 Hotels" tour in Europe and North America . That’s why he has a really bad conscience, he stresses.

Interview from Bild am Sonntag: March 30, 2008

Tom, your brother Bill will have his operation today or tomorrow. How is Bill spending his time at home?

TOM KAULITZ: Bill is in bed most of the time and watches videos. We piled him up with DVDs so that he keeps his mouth closed. At the moment he’s watching the complete season of "Prison Break", which he’s really into. Occasionally he shuffles in his sweats to the refrigerator and gets himself something to eat. If he would sit in front of the television with a beer and watch soccer then I would be really proud of my little brother. I think there’s still hope for him, he’s working on it slowly.

Who cooks for Bill?

At the moment, I cook Spaghetti with my special sauce for him every day. The Sauce is in all modesty really awful. Bill probably chokes on it, but without a voice, he really can’t complain. Although even with his voice, he can’t talk. Bill cooks even worse than I do. Occasionally our mother comes to visit, and then one can see Bill is happy, when she takes over the cooking.

How does it feel to be at home for such a long period of time?

We have been on the road almost every day for years, and now all of a sudden, from one day to the next, we’re only hanging around at home. That is a huge change. All at once, you fall into a hole and miss being on the road. Moreover Bill is missing the singing. Bill doesn’t just sing on the stage and in the studio, but usually the entire day at home. No wonder that his voice is weak. Now this is the first time that he’s been sedated – I find this quiet pleasant.

Is Bill in pain? How do you keep his spirits up?

Oh, I don’t think he’s in any pain. And anyway, if he was, without a voice he can’t complain anyway. Normally Bill talks incessantly like a waterfall, which can be really irritating. Right now I’m having the most relaxed time of my life. Now if someone speaks, it’s me, and Bill cannot defend himself – it’s great. Yesterday he wrote “shut your mouth” on a slip of paper with black eyeliner. Now, when I get on Billi’s nerves he always hold up the slip of paper.

Are you going to accompany Bill to the hospital? How long do you expect him to be there?

Bill would like to remain in the hospital as short as possible. He will probably only be there between one and two days. We will go there together and I will remain with him the entire time. Naturally, our family, the close friends, Georg and Gustav and our team will also visit Bill.

What are drummer Gustav and bass player Georg doing at the moment?

Well yes, for those two there’s nothing new. What should they be doing? They’re doing nothing, like always. (Laughs) [Inappropriate joke about Georg] and Gustav rides his bike. No, but really, I think it’s going the same for all four of us. Through this mandatory break, we’re all really coming down. Maybe it’s not all that bad.

Are you worried that Tokio Hotel won’t have the same sound after the operation as before? Does Bill fear that his voice will sound higher or deeper after the operation?

We’ve all said that would really suck. It really worries us. Bill already made it clear me with sign language that if that happens I’ll simply have to take over the microphone after the operation. Hey, Phil Collins was also a drummer before he became a singer.

Do you have a backup plan? Your fans are equally worried. There must be many gifts arriving for Bill, right?

The way the fans throw themselves into things is really incredible and totally sweet. Bill is being showered with gifts from fans at the moment. Most of them are inspired by Bill’s throat. He’ll be equipped for the next ski vacation, in any case. He’s received a lot of kerchiefs and scarves, and more importantly, we can now open a pharmacy. Never-ending throat drops, multivitamin tablets, vitamin C, zinc and a lot of homeopathic remedies. If someone takes that all at once, they will definitely have a really good trip.

Regarding the concerts in North America, they have rescheduled the concert in Washington DC. I think it is going to be some time in May. I already got tickets for the one in Illinois, but then we found out that the concert was postponed because of Bill's operation. Hopefully the Illinois concert will have a new date soon, too. I was really looking forward to that, and we also have to get new plane tickets, so... Well, that's about it for now. I'll be putting more pictures up soon.

It turns out that Bill actually had his operation on Sunday, and everything went fine. Thank God... We were all worried about him. We also read that Tom took him to the hospital. How sweet!

This is for the people that don't know about Bill and his problem with his throat.

I just found out a few days ago that Bill has something wrong with his throat. Apparently he has a cyst on his vocal chords. He will be okay (I believe that it is only a 20 minuet operation) but I (as well as many other fans across the globe) am a bit worried about him. I just hope that he feels okay after the operation. The operation is going to be tomorrow (keep in mind that they are 9 hours ahead, so if you think that it is 7 PM it is actually 4 AM over there). I was going to go to their show in Illinois (they were coming to the US again in April) but it was canceled due to this. It will be re-scheduled later this year.

Geeze, I just feel so bad for him... the poor thing. He must be in so much pain!

Okay, I have a lot of updates. First of all, I would like to apologize for not updating in over a month. I've been really busy, and haven't had much time to come on. About the pictures from the concert. I will try again to upload them. I've tried, what, now three times to upload them on to here, but it never worked. I will be updating as often as possible, as well as adding videos, pictures, and links. Okay, well, that's about it for now.

Concert

I have one word for the Tokio Hotel Concert: AMAZING. It was absolutely surreal! Okay, this is going to be a VERY long post...

Okay, so we came to the Roxy (That's where they were playing) and were at the very back of the line. There were SO many people there, probably over 500! We were waiting in line and met the people in front of us. We talked for most of the time about the band and stuff, so we weren't bored for the two hours or so that we were waiting in line. At 8:00 the doors opened, and at about an hour or so later we were inside. At about 9:20 the band came on stage. When the curtain opened up, I was like, "Okay, that is not them. It can't be them! Oh my God I can't believe I'm here!" Eventually I made my way up to the very front. We were on Tom's side, and I couldn't believe I was that close to him! Half the time I was screaming, "Tom, I love you!" Some times he was so close I was seriously less than an inch away from touching his guitar!!! He threw some picks near the area I was in, but I couldn't catch any. I got some great pictures of him on my phone and camera, so I'll upload them and put them on here later. Probably the highlight of the concert was when he smiled at me! I think he saw my shirt. I had pictures of him on it and a phrase in German. He looked so cute at the concert! I wish they could stay in America forever! The concert ended at about 11:30, and then I went home. I got back at about midnight, and am still REALLY tired. It was well worth it, though! This is one concert that I will surely never forget.
